Highly Adaptable Early Season Switchgrass.
Sundance is an elite cross derived from an early season selection of cave n rock Chippewa crossed with an improved selection of sunburst. Sundance works well in central and northern regions and is more drought tolerant and adaptable to poorer soils than other varieties of switchgrass.
It has a heavier seed weight, improved vigor, and reduced dormancy. It offers exceptional yield potential and is an exceptionally quick-to-establish switchgrass. It has excellent Winter hardiness and great upright growth so it can handle the harsh Winters of the Midwest. It grows really well on subpar soils and can adapt to sandier soils as well as poorly drained soils subject to seasonal flooding.
With the ability to grow from 5 to 7 feet tall, it offers incredible opportunities for wildlife habitat for upland birds and deer alike.
